A breaker doing its job is not a defect. Repeated trips usually mean an overloaded circuit, a short between conductors, a ground fault, or a breaker that has weakened from years of thermal cycling. Diagnosis starts with isolating which load causes the trip. Replacing the breaker without finding the cause just moves the failure downstream.

Age alone is not the test. The things that push a panel onto the replacement list are an undersized service for the loads in the building, no space for required circuits, discontinued or recalled equipment, rust or moisture in the enclosure, overheating at the bus, and aluminum branch-circuit connections.
