How we scope a job

Most calls start with a symptom rather than a service: half the kitchen is dead, the lights dim when the air conditioner starts, a breaker will not reset. The first step is always diagnosis, because replacing a part that was never the problem is the most expensive thing an electrician can do.

Once the cause is clear we tell you what has to be corrected now for safety, what can reasonably wait, and what the permit and inspection path looks like if the repair crosses into inspected work. Panel replacements, service changes, rewiring and most EV charger circuits fall into that category in the City of Los Angeles.
